I never thought that I would actually shoot for one of my favorite channels on cable… and when I received that call for a meeting, I was dead excited! I was so curious! Me shoot for National Geographic? And so it has materialized, 3 shooting days at The Lighthouse Studio, it was fun! yes fun! and a great learning experience. Each personality that I shot also had to sit down for the video interview (which will also air on the channel) they were asked to prepare questions, things that they are or have been curious about, and the more they ask the more I got curious about a lot of things.

In an interview I was asked “If you had the chance to ask a question, what are you curious about and why?” And I said
“I have always wondered about how vast the universe is, I mean, our mind (brain) is only capable of understanding a fraction of reality, even if we come up with measurements from machines or formulas made by geniuses, these are only understandings which our brains can understand… I wonder, will there be ever a time when it would be possible to expand our understanding capacity to a more super human understanding?” did you understand all that? haha!

Most great ideas, concepts or story starts with “what if’s”, curiosity… Live curiously! let’s kill boredom!

Please visit the National Geographic Channel Live Curious Photo Exhibit atThe Gallery, Greenbelt 5 on Oct 3-4. Glorietta on Oct 7-10. Trinoma on Oct 21-24. Bonifacio High Street on Nov 13-14.

…. we see … we feel … we ignore … we live …. we walk on dying beauty … as she comes out of the earth to plead for life … not hers but ours … we look with blind eyes … hear with deaf ears … we allow death … and conscious rage defile the earth … one day she will come … take us all …. into the earth … no more pain … no more greed … no more ubiquitous indifference … just …. the … earth ….

…. my gratitude to the swishgoddess for her inspiring beauty ….

The 2nd Lightworks Exhibit has an “Earth” theme. Each of my students were given the chance to conceptualize something that is socially relevant to todays issues on climate change, waste management, global warming etc. I said, I want photographs that would have statements without having to put “texts” on them, images that would talk and perhaps remind the audience that “hey, this is what’s happening” and hopefully push individuals or groups to act on the problems that we all face today. I am proud to say that my students were able to put  Portraiture, Glamour, Fashion and Beauty together with this great advocacy to save our planet.

You are all invited to come on September 04, 2010 at the Lighthouse Studio at 7pm!

(from http://www.stir.ph/LM/articles~level2/id…4/article.html)

“Being the very first awards show mounted by the magazine, the Star Studio Celebrity Style Awards selected its nominees via a thorough selection process. The Star Studio editorial team collated entries for each category based on a specific style criteria. To complete the process, a formidable “Style Council,” comprised of an exclusive group of experts from different style and fashion related industries, deliberated and decided on the final five nominees per category.

The Star Studio Celebrity Style Awards categories are divided into three types: People’s Choice Awards, Technical Awards and Celebrity Awards. A second style council will be convened to decide on the winners for both Technical and Celebrity Awards categories, while the winners for People’s Choice will be based on public voting via texting. The voting period for the People’s Choice Awards will be from 12nn of July 7 to 12nn of September 3.

Aside from the presentation of nominees, the launch party of the Star Studio Celebrity Style Awards also featured the “Wall of Stars” exhibit, where photos of celebrities from various fields come together to show that “sharing, caring and giving back to the community is always in style.” Photographed by Niccolo Cosme, the Wall of Stars exhibit is in support of Sagip Kapamilya and Kapit Bisig Para Sa Ilog Pasig Foundation.

The Star Studio Celebrity Style Awards is set to culminate in a glittering and glamorous awards night and fashion show come October. For more updates about the Star Studio Celebrity Style Awards, simply log on to http://starstudio.multiply.com/.”

Will post all 50 photos soon! 🙂 cheers!

The Brotherhood of Men from COSME XXX (Carlo Atienza and Alvin Aguilar)

I’ve been asked so many times! Who’s that hot model you used for Cosme XXX? The one with mohawk!? Well I have not gotten tired answering that question just yet, but when asked more about him, I say sorry that I dont know much aside from his name! hahaha! So earlier today I called him up for a short short interview! lolz I felt like I was back being a researcher for that showbiz show I used to work for back in the days! Anyway!  I met Carlo Atienza during a workshop shoot, it is when my students get to have their own shoot and Carlo was assigned as one of my student’s model.

During the COSME XXX shoot, one of the models apparently got into an accident and could not come, Carlo was suggested by his co-model Alvin whom I have featured here sometime ago. I only realized I knew him when he got at the studio! and I knew it was just perfect! He might have been a last minute addition, but he was just perfect for the project! This 21 year old Aquarian is not just any other guy! he is a Nursing graduate! yes! soon in time he will be a nurse! and I am sure, everyone would want to be in the hospital when that happens. lolz! Originally from Negros Ocidental, he speaks Cebuano! and plays football whenever he can! No wonder he has that kind of body! Anyone who wants to play football now?
